Thanks for the heads up on the Daily Herald 5 Sunday papers.  What a great deal! I have my subscrption starting Sunday.  My husband said to check out if the coupons are better in the Herald or the Deseret News?  We just moved from Texas and had awful coupons so I'm hopeful to find some good ones here.  Thanks.

I think that they are pretty much the same!   One doesn't have WAY better coupons with higher amounts or anything.  Only minor differences if any!

Deseret News/Salt Lake Tribune get a Kellogg's Rebate/Coupon insert once a year in it that doesn't come in The Daily Herald (although some people get it in the mail, I've heard) and maybe one other thing a year, but that's pretty much the difference.  Depending on where you live (Saratoga Springs, for example), sometimes a Red Plum (Valassis) insert comes in the mail with the grocery store ads on Tuesdays- but it's the same insert that comes in the paper the following Sunday.  A few weeks ago, the Walgreen's ad that came in The Daily Herald had an extra page advertising the Grand Openings of two new Utah County locations, which included some really good coupons- Deseret News/Salt Lake Tribune didn't get that.  So it's really just hit or miss.  Pick the paper you prefer.

If you live in Utah County the Tribune/Deseret will not garentee your coupons or your Sunday paper.  It cost them too much to re-deliver them.  The Daily Herald garentees your Sunday paper, along with your coupons.  Not only are you garenteed them, but you will recieve them that Sunday (if you call in later on Sunday you might receive them on Monday). My neighbor, who gets the Daily Herald, did not recieve 2 of her Smart Source in her Sunday paper.  I let her know that it was not her carriers fault, sometime the machine will skip or add muliples to a paper.  She called in on Tuesday and she recieved them on Wed.  I love that about the Daily Herald. The coupons may differ by one or two individual coupons if any each week.  On rare occasion (maybe once every 6 months) there is an extra insert in one and not the other.  For the most part, Utah County, Herald all the way!

I live in Saratoga Springs, and just subscribed to the Deseret News.  They do guarantee your paper the same day if you don't get it, as long as you call before 10 am Mon-Sat and before Noon on Sunday.  I'm just getting started on the coupon clipping and am excited to save some money!

I get the Deseret News and the Standard Examiner (Davis county).  I've only noticed VERY slight differences.  One time I didn't get my Deseret News right when I started, and I called them and they credited my account back for a newstand paper ($1.50 I think).  And I just went and bought one at Albertsons because they carry the Sunday paper throughout the week, so I didn't miss out on my coupons, and that was the week the Kellogg's insert came Smiley   I like getting the Deseret News because the Church News comes on Saturdays.

I am biased - but....the Daily Herald ROCKS!!!!  By the way, you can call anytime you are missing Sunday's coupons, not just Sunday. (Ie...Monday, Tuesday etc..)
