Lets start posting where we find beer rebates. A lot of stores are now keeping them at the customer service desk and the meat and deli counters. I believe this is because some people are taking several at once, and sometimes the the whole pad.

If you post, please tell us
  • the NAME of the STORE
  • the CITY (if there is more than one store in that city, please tell us WHICH LOCATION/STREET)
  • WHERE IN THE STORE you found them (i.e. customer service/beer aisle, etc.)
***
For those who aren't familiar with "beer rebates", you do NOT have to buy beer but it is the beer companies that put out the rebates. It is illegal for a company to require people in the state of Utah (and some other states) to buy beer to participate in a rebate. So, most of the time the rebate only requires us to buy normal everyday grocery items. They are usually on tear pads and they require you to buy anything from meats, pizza, salty snacks (chips, nuts, etc.) and cheese to patio furniture or gift cards.  Most are limitted to one per household.

I know there are currently SEVERAL different rebates out there out there if we can just find them!

Found these two a couple days ago at the Smiths in Pleasant Grove at the customer service desk:

$10 Seafood or Steak / Bud Light Lime Summer Grilling Rebate ~ Receive a $10 rebate on your purchase of Seafood or Steak (purchase price must exceed $10) Purchase between 5/1/09 ? 8/2/09. Must be received by 8/17/09.

$10 Fresh Meat, Pork, Chicken or Seafood (Budweiser rebate) ~Receive a $10 rebate on your purchase of Fresh Meat, Pork, Chicken or Seafood with the purchase of two (2) bags of KINGSFORD Charcoal (9lbs or larger). I have seen $3 tear pad coupons (off the purchase of two bags) exp. 5/31/09. (purchase price of meat or seafood must exceed $10) Purchase between 5/1/09 ? 7/5/09. Must be received by 7/20/09.

They also had some rebates for patio furniture and barbecues.

Do you just go up to Customer Service and ask for the beer rebates? I am new to this and just want to know how it works.

Although I've read all that I can find on these "beer rebates" I'm still a bit confused.  Do you have to purchase beer in order to benifit from these rebates?  They wouldn't be of any use to me if that is the case.  Thanks to anyone willing to go into more detail.

I just ask if they have any beer rebates. If they act like they don't know what I'm talking about I'll describe them. I'll say that they are from the beer companies, but you don't have to buy the beer... If I know which ones I'm looking for I'll say what they require you to purchase to do that rebate because usually that's in big letters on the front.  Smiley

I just heard through the "grapevine" of some beer rebate forms that you are able to download online, but my source wasn't sure of any of the details.  I did a quick Google search, but can't seem to find anything.  Anyone have any ideas?  I'm assuming someone would have posted in if it was something that was readily accessible for downloading. Huh?

where does it say "all purchases must be made on the same date"?  I have one of those, and I didn't see it there.

It's in the very fine print near the bottom of the back side where you fill your name in.  I was bummed.  I got all of my receipts out for May and was ready to send it off until I saw that "detail".  Oh well, Costco here I come!

Yeah, it's at the very end of the small print Sad  Whenever you get a Heineken rebate, read that one closely, too. Those usually have to be purchased on the same date, also.

Even though for some it's hard to spend that much on one day (not me laughing5 ), just remember after you get the rebate then you'll have saved an additional 25% on your groceries....and your pantry will be a lot fuller! toothy10

I just do it on my way out of the store...if I remember. They didn't use to keep them in back of the customer service desk so a lot of times I forget.
If you don't save your grocery receipts (I never used to), START SAVING THEM! You never know when you'll find a rebate for something you've already purchased.  I rarely have to go buy something just to do these rebates. I hold on to my receipts and when I find a rebate I usually already have one that I can use for it. Also, I've learned what types of rebates come out during certain times of the year, and I know now to (if I remember) to do separate transactions for certain foods. I hate it when I have a receipt that has food on it that I can use for two different rebates! Smiley

Does anyone out there know whether you actually have to spend the actual amount of money to get the rebates or whether the rebate items just have to be worth that much? For instance, I had a $10 off coupon at Albertson's, which I used to pay for part of our Fathers' Day seafood feast. After the $10 coupon, my total came to $9 and change. I have a beer rebate for $10 back on $10 of seafood and another beer rebate for $5 back on $5 of seafood. I don't know if I can use my receipt for the $10 one, and I'm not sure if I want to risk spoiling my precious rebate. I'd rather get $5 than nothing at all. Does anyone have any experience with this?

from what I understand your purchase has to total at least the $10 or amount specified.  It can be with multiple receipts as long as they total the amount.  I would go buy something for a dollar or two and add it to it your total.

I LOVE a good sale!

It is usually the pre-coupon amount.  I would call the number on the rebate and ask them for sure.

So...where do you all find these beer rebates?  I've been reading through this forum and have kept my eye out at grocery stores and have never found any beer rebates.  They sound like good deals, but I've had no luck even finding them!
