Title: Generator Information
Post by: lisamiut on December 31, 2006, 03:25:51 PM
Use this calculator to estimate the size of generator you will need to purchase if the power goes out:

It is only an estimation.  This time of year there are always generators on sale through the auto stores, home depot and even Costco.  Something to plan on purchasing for a big outage.

A friendly reminder...

Generators should never be run inside or in a garage.  They should be only run outdoors.  In the last Denver storm several people died of Carbon Monoxide from running their generator in the garage.  FYI.

You're right!  There were a bunch of people who died and got sick in Washington state too right before Christmas.  I would recommend purchasing one through a reliable dealer who can tell you how to best use the brand you get and READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS.
