Title: need help understanding coupons
Post by: bumblebee on February 27, 2007, 09:32:17 AM
I noticed that the Garnier Fructis Stylers are free at Walgreens this week with a rebate.  But I also noticed that there is a $1.00/1 coupon in the V 2/11-10.  If you used the coupon that would make your total -$1.00.  Does that mean I could then buy any other product in the store and that $1.00 would be applied to that purchase.  On the other hand, if I didn't buy an extra product, do stores give back the $1.00 owing?  Thanks from a new couponer.

The fructis is actually free...after rebate.  So you would go in, pay the purchase price minus your $1.00 coupon.  Keep your reciept.  Then at the end of the month you would submit your rebate by mail and Walgreens will send you a rebate for the purchase price (plus a 10% bonus).  Initially it seems kind of expensive because you do have to pay for the rebate items up front, but I've found that my rebate card from a previous month will usually cover my purchases for the current month.  Eventually I'm not coming out of pocket for any of my rebate items.  Hope this makes sense! :alien:
