Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: jmlf on August 10, 2007, 09:14:53 AM My favorite memory from the 80's is all the time I spent pegging my jeans so they wouldn't come unrolled. Isn't it funny that we want the exact opposite now!
Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: tammy on August 10, 2007, 09:20:54 AM I graduated from high school in 1984, so I remember the 80's very well! I love how many of our hair and clothing styles are being repeated now -even leg warmers!!! I love Richard Marx! I think my favorite memory is mullets- my little brother had one. Growing up in Payson, it was the cool thing. :D :D :D
How about shoulder pads, Adam Ant, Bananarama, INXS, acid washed jeans, and my absolute favorite... FOOTLOOSE!! It was filmed at my high school (Payson High) and yes I met Kevin Bacon (he asked me if I had a cigarette :-\) and Sarah Jessica Parker. They hired much of our studentbody as extras and I still love to watch it and see myself and all my buddies from high school!!! Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: tophnem on August 10, 2007, 10:26:50 AM Easy answer for me! The Fashion--the Bright Colors, My favorite outfit consisted of a shirt that was fluorescent green and fluorescent pink that I tied in the corner, with my HUGE bangs, divided down the middle of course with half curled up and half curled down, a Pontail on top of my head, the stirup pants. leg warmers, and my hot pink hightops.... oh the days :D
Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: stea on August 10, 2007, 10:52:10 AM Girbaud jeans, leg warmers, BIG bangs, ratting your hair out, not up. WOW! There's a trip down memory lane for you. I would LOVE to go to Richard Marx!! Pick me! Pick me!
Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: Cheryl on August 10, 2007, 11:14:08 AM I loved watching The Greatest American Hero and Smurfs. I liked to do my hair with huge bangs and a ponytail off to the side. I remember my older sister doing her hair with a bannana clip. Fun stuff!!

"Why do they all have poofy hair" "What did your hair look like in the olden days?" Olden days?......she's SOOOOOOOOOO grounded!!!!!!!!!!!! Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: 2much2do on August 10, 2007, 11:39:57 AM I was pregnant and wearing stirup pants. I thought it was the weirdest fashion ever. I was glad that I could stop straightening my naturaly very curlly hair and be in fashion. Pick me.
Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: nelljepp on August 10, 2007, 11:49:59 AM For a good flashback - check your library for DVDs of shows like "The Greatest American Hero" (SL county has 3 seasons). I couldn't resist picking that one up a few weeks ago. It wasn't nearly as good as I remember it and I've recently added the theme song to my I-tunes collection. I still love hearing the song.
Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: Cara on August 10, 2007, 11:53:59 AM My sister would play some of these songs as I would wonder if she could get her bangs any higher. Would love to go! :D
Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: Pirahna on August 10, 2007, 11:57:19 AM My greatest memory of the 80's is the music!!! I still listen to it all the time and have converted my children to great music. I just love Styx, REO Speedwagon, Journey, Chicago, Richard Marx (of course!!!), Lionel Richie, Rick Springfield, Survivor, Boston, Kansas, Blondie, Toto, Air Supply... I'll still never forget watching my first music video on MTV--"Thriller" by Michael Jackson. Ah, those were the days... (Pick me and help me "celebrate" the week I turn 40!!!) :) ;) :'(
Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: lisamiut on August 10, 2007, 12:02:51 PM I AM the child of the 80's - graduating in 1987 (AGH! 20 years!!!) I lived through Madonna, Michael Jackson and more! I watched the Thriller video at least 1000 times to learn the dance and used to perform it for my siblings - poor kids - that must have been torture!
My hubby got a new car with a free XM radio trial and it never leaves the 80's channel! My mini skirt and leg warmers will stay at home if I get to go to the concert! LOL Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: Kathy on August 10, 2007, 01:50:55 PM Ok, so I was only in early elementary during the 80's but I do remember wanting to crimp my hair, and wondering why my babysitters boyfriends pants were so tight. I also remember alf, smurfs, punky brewster & ghostbusters.
Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: kkelly1235 on August 10, 2007, 03:13:51 PM I know I'm not eligible to go (won the tickets to Darryl Worley), but just wanted to let you all know I am getting a kick out your responses! I was also in early elementary during the 80's but I do remember some MC Hammer "diaper pants" I wore... very cool.

Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: ericabryne on August 10, 2007, 04:46:04 PM I was actually born in the 80's, but I sure do remember them. I was blessed (cursed) with naturally curly hair, so I had the greatest set of 'windjammer' bangs from the time I was 3. My mom participated in high impact aerobic competitions and I remember thinking that those were the best looking leotards ever, especially when paired with leg warmers, hightops and the big ponytails. Amazingly enough, all my siblings and I have acquired a taste for 80's music. We actually took my dad to RUSH this week, but we love Journey, Bryan Adams, AC/DC, Don Henley, Billy Idol, Def Leppard, and of course Richard Marx, just to name a few. Count me in!
Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: arosk on August 10, 2007, 07:03:43 PM How about wearing two different colored socks (stacked right on top of eachother) with earrings that matched in the same color!
Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: SavvyShopper on August 10, 2007, 09:36:26 PM OK....... But, who waited for years for Sybill and Bruce to kiss on moonlighting or Remington Steele to kiss Laura? :love6: :love5: :love6:
Title: Re: Richard Marx - Scera Shell Aug. 27th Post by: rkr on August 13, 2007, 03:06:45 PM Jelly shoes, bright funky shorts, and of course the best of all, the music! I would LOVE to go to a Richard Marx concert!
