The coupon index is just a list of all the current coupons.  It is a great resource to use when you are looking for a specific coupon!  :)

The organizer is a way to arrange your shopping list when you are using the Shopping Wizard.

In the Shopping Wizard you can click on the different items you want to purchase.  The items that you click on then go into your organizer for later reference.  I hope this helps you out.

By the way welcome to SavvyShopperDeals.com!    :) :) :)

Yeah, but how do you actually *get* the coupons? Do you still have to hunt through the newspaper to find them?

The best way to get the coupons in through a newspaper subscription.  The Daily Herald offers several subscription packages.  Check out this link for more information.

You can also find some printable coupons on the internet.

So what good did it do me to spend the time going through here and picking out coupons if I still have to go and hunt them up?  I'm confused about how this site works and disappointed that even after I think I've found coupons...I haven't.  I have the Sunday paper and the ones I chose aren't in it.  So do I have to get several papers?  By that time I'm spending more than I'm saving.

What exactly is the purpose of this site?

I have always found the coupons that are listed in the coupon index.  You do have to make sure you have the right inserts.  Since I don't have a good way to organize them yet in a binder, I keep mine in a stack, with each set paper clipped with a sticky note telling me the date.  In the coupon wizard it'll tell you  which insert the coupon was in, what date the coupon came in the newspaper, and finally what page you can find it on if you keep them in order.  I find it very helpful and I'll admit sometimes I have to look a couple of times to find the coupon.  Since I get a different newspaper then the one sponsoring this site (I wish I was in the Daily Herald delivery area), sometimes we get different ads, but usually they are the same.

This site has saved me a ton of money by helping me find great deals and also in directing me to the coupons to save even more.  I'm sure that without this site I wouldn't use even a fourth of the coupons I now use.  If you get the e-mails, you'll also find out about coupons you can get from off different websites.

Don't give up!!!

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by having to hunt up coupons.  Are you referring to the online printables?  If you use the Shopping Wizard, I think the only coupons listed are the ones found in the Sunday papers.  Are you in Utah?  There are three newspapers you can subscribe to, but they all have the same coupons.  If you are not in Utah, the coupons in your Sunday paper will be different and this website won't be as helpful.  You may still have the same sales at your local stores, like Kmart, but that isn't even necessarily true.  I was in Reno over the summer and the Albertson's ad was completly different from the one in Utah.  :-\

The purpose of this site is for someone else (Amy) to go through all the ads each week and match up what is on sale with the available coupons and also to let us know how good the prices are.  (I have a hard time remembering what a good price is to pay for everything, so this way I rely on her memory.  ;) )  Sometimes you don't need coupons for the items to be good deals, but most of the really great deals come from combining the sale items with coupons.

I hope this helps answer your questions.  If you are in or near Utah County, Amy teaches coupon classes at least once a month and also is frequently at different Expo's and is great to answer questions.  She always has her great binder and teaches you how to cut and sort the coupons.  I honestly save at least 70% every time I go to the grocery store, and often save 85-90%!  It definately takes time to do all this, but I look at it as a part-time job that helps me feed my family great food as well as stock up for a "rainy day".  Please ask more questions if you have them.  We all love to help others save money!

You have to collect the coupons from the Sunday papers every Sunday in order to have all of the coupons that this site refers to.  When you first start collecting coupons you might miss a few of the deals because the coupons came out a long time ago.  I have some coupons from a year ago sitting in my binder waiting to be used because it has not expired yet.

Each week you get new coupons from the Sunday paper.

I strongly recommend taking one of Amy's classes if you are in Utah.  She can really help explain how the whole system works.

Good luck.  This really is a good system once you figure it out!   :) :)

I have a question.  I am really far behind on my coupons.   >:( >:( :-[ :-[ :'( I have the inserts in a file folder--one for each week.  Is there a quick way that I can determine which weeks still have coupons that haven't expired yet without going through each page of the insert?   TIA

The problem is that some coupons in ea insert may have expired, but others haven't.  P&G usually all expire together but the rest of the inserts vary. You can search the coupon index by expiration date and it will tell you what is about to expire, but I'm afraid you'll have to look at each of the inserts you have first.  :-\

I have a question about the Shopping wizard/Organizer.  I went through and selected what I wanted on my list then when I went to the Organizer there were only 5 items listed (just the things on the last page).  Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong here?  I am new to this web site but my sister just raves about it.

I've never had that happen before. Each night the items you select from the shopping wizard are cleared but if you did it the same day they should be there. Have you tried it since? I  just tried it and it had all the items I selected when I went to the organizer.

Is there a way to sort the coupon list by code or expiration day?  I haven't figured that part out.  It would be really useful to be able to see all this weeks new coupons.  And, to see which inserts still have valid coupons.

I have really liked the organizer, but it won't email.  I have tried different email addresses, and numerous times, and can't get it to email.  So I have to just look through, and remember, because it erases each night.

I print mine out and then I have it to go to the store whether it is right then or in a day or two!
