Title: Does anyone know if the fruit stands are still open?
Post by: Karley on September 26, 2007, 05:28:39 PM
Hi, I bought some pears last week as I was going out of town to bring to my family to can - I asked them how often they had pears and they said everyday - so I though no problem I'll get some next week when I got back, but I haven't seen anyone at the stands / no fruit.  Are they seasonal  / do they have a times they are there and I am missing them - I am leaving at the same times I used too.  Anyone know???  Just wanted to can pears before the season passed - hopefully I'm not too late :)

I also posted earlier about the oregon berries - the cut off deadline for orders is this weekend if anyone is still interested.  The website is bithellfarms.com.  Bulk orders of 10 boxes or more receive a $3 per box discount - or group orders if you get one together of 10 boxes - they all have to be faxed together.  I have all the forms / info if anyone needs it.

Thanks for all your help

I have seen fruit stands open in Orem & Lindon.  I haven't seen the corn stands open anymore.

I checked with Thanksgiving Point's farmer's market--looks like that they will do vegs. this Friday, and next week is the last week (pumpkins). You may want to check though and see if their are any fruit stands at the market (I've never been to one so I'm not sure).  I think they also do a farmer's market in Provo behind the old library from what I have heard.  Hope this helps.

Spanish Fork still has their farmer's market open on Saturday.  I believe it is still open this saturday and next.  You can find more details at http://spanishfork.org

I have always gotten mine at the one by Costo in AF/Lehi.  I think it is called Mitchells???  I haven't checked lately, but it is worth a phone call anyway.

I was just at Mitchell's today and I noticed they had peaches, pears, apples, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, and a few melons, and squash/pumpkins.  It was quite busy and the lady said people must be wanting to sample the last of the season peaches.  They are open everyday through the season as far as I know.  They are located just across from AF Costco entrance, you will see a white sign at the turn.  I was looking for cucumbers to pickle and she also mentioned the farm in Pleasant grove that goes to the freeway has quite a bit of stuff left.  Anyone know where I can find small cucumbers, I may be too late!?!
