This is a MUST if you want to start saving big on a weekly basis.  Those who are working on acquiring a "Food Storage" or what I like to call a "Prepared Pantry" can do it quickly and within your current budget by ordering multiples of the Daily Herald.  For just a small amount investment you can save BIG!  After 1 year on the 5 subscription, I now get 3 because I am running out of room for FOOD & SUPPLIES!!!  Get ordering!

This is whats posted on the Savvyshoppperdeals Home page!

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I was interested in the prices not mentioned on the home page.  Particularly the price for 4 papers.  I am being charged $15.32 every month for 4 papers.  And this month I was charged an additional $3.00 dollars.  So I was wondering if the price had changed.  I did call customer service and acquire about the $3.00 charged and was told that the $3.00 charge was for the community paper (Orem Times) that comes in the mail every week.  I thought the community paper was part of the Savvy Shopper subscription deal.  Customer Service said that after a year of service that they start charging for the community paper.  Anyway, with the $3.00 charge aside, should the monthly charge for 4 papers be $15.32 per month or $14.27 per month?

Is this the same paper that can be picked up at the newstand every Sunday for $1.50?  Or does it have more coupon offers?

Current rates:

1 @ $8.42
2 @ $10.36
3 @ $12.30
4 @ $14.24
5 @ $16.40

They are the same as at the racks but you are not guaranteed the coupons in the racks.  Sometimes people take them out!

Caltocar - I'll look into your subscription.

The newspapers at the news stand are never guaranteed to have coupons.  Coupons are sent out first to paid subscribers and then the news stands are stocked, so you can not guarantee that you can get coupons.  For 16.40 a month you get 5 copies of the Sunday paper.  If you were to pay $1.50 per paper per week you would pay $30.  It is a substantial savings as well as a guarantee you would get the coupons.

Hi,
Im trying to decide whether I want to become a savvy shopper. How long does this deal last for the 5 Sunday papers? Also any advice someone could send me on organizing coupons that would be great. I read the other post about it, but Im not understanding the category system. You separate all the different types of foods and items, and then have separate sections for stores? Thanks in advance. This actually sounds like fun. My husband thinks the idea is crazy. :)Let me know.

If you want to save tons of money on your groceries, I would highly recommend joining the Savvy Shopper Club!  Cheesy  The very best way to learn and understand the way to organize your coupons is to sign up for one of the free classes that Amy teaches.  She always has her binder with her and is more than willing to let you look through it.  Hopefully you are in Utah County because that is where she teaches her classes.

There are a couple of things I always tell people when starting to use coupons- Look at it as a part-time job!  It takes time and energy to do, but it definately pays, and you can do it on your own and your family's schedule.  (I do a lot of mine in the car while my husband drives. Wink)  Also, be patient as you are starting.  It honestly takes several months to feel comfortable doing it all.  And realize that even the seasoned couponers still make mistakes.  Undecided   It's a fun hobby and we all love to share what we know, so please ask questions along the way!  Welcome to the club! Cheesy
