I love a SWEET deal!

« on: December 04, 2006, 01:36:24 PM »

I was just looking at my newspaper from this morning and noticed a tiny box labeled "Current Events 101".  The box said that the Daily Herald will donate any papers you won't be reading while you are on vacation to local schools for the students and teachers to use!   I LOVE this idea and just had to post it here for everyone!  There is nothing I HATE more then to come home after vacation to see a pile of newspapers that I will never get around to reading!

Donating your paper is easy to do too!  All you have to do is call the Daily Herald at 375-5103 and tell the customer service rep. when you will be away on vacation and request that your undelivered newspapers be donated to a local school.  Then they will stop delivery while you are away and resume delivery when you get home.  Like a vacation stop!

I think this is SO cool!  Now I can do something good with all my newspapers while I am on vacation beside recycle them!   YIPPPEEEE!!!!!!

Just one more reason I love the Daily Herald!   love4

I know this is probably a more selfish idea but you can call and just put a hold on your paper while on vacation and they will credit you the time you are gone toward future papers. Say you have a year subscription and take a weeks vacation, that extends your paper a week.

You can also get a vacation pack where you can have your papers held and then delivered on your restart date.  I always donate my weekly papers to the schools and ask the Daily Herald to hold my Sunday papers for delivery when I get home from vacation. That way everyone benefits and you don't miss the coupons!
