Thanks!  I went there tonight, and found the clearance on the shampoos, but ran into a problem when I got at the checkout.  The checker told me that Target is only letting you use 1 coupon now per item, and I told him that the coupon does say, "Limit one coupon per purchase", but that each item is a purchase.  He said that Target will not take more than 1 coupon on the same item, and that this is a new Target policy that stemmed from abuse from printable coupons.

I talked to the manager, and asked her, "So Target isn't accepting multiple coupons anymore?" and she said, "Yes, we will only accept one coupon, per item.  If there is an identical item with another coupon they will not accept it."  She also told me that I couldn't use the Herbal Essence Coupons, because the packs were on clearance. Hmmmmmm.  So, I ended up not buying the 4 shampoos/conditioners, and walked out.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is this really Target's new corporate policy or just the AF store?  I am going to try to call Target Corp.  If anyone else knows, please post.  Thanks!

Last week I went to the AF Target, they let me use 2 coupons one manufacturer and one store coupon IF it didn't exceed the price of the item. They wouldn't let me get the daisy sour cream because the sour cream was $.97 cents and the coupons combined equaled $1 off. They said they couldn't adjust the price for $.03 cents. They told me their new policy was that if the coupons were more than the actual price of the item they would only accept one of the coupons.

It sounds to me like they are having some communication problems in their store...since that is two seperate stories...and I talked to a manager as well.

Maybe try the Orem or Sandy store?

I have never had that problem there before.  I have used a store coupon and manufacturer coupons on the same item.  It didn't exceed the price of the item, but I was able to use store and manufacturer on multipule identical items.

If they give you a hard time, you could alway just pay for one at a time so they are all on separate checks.  If they are having problems with printable coupons, why do they have to be such a pain with regular coupons?  Angry Hmmm  Maybe it should be taken to corporate.  Let us know if you get anywhere with them Cara.  Thx

Just got this from Target Corp.

Dear Amy,

Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping at Target, and we make it easy to use them at our stores. But because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target:

-We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued coupons.
-We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
-We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item; in that case, we'll adjust the value of the coupon to equal the price of the item.
-We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.

All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier at the time of sale.

Have questions or want more information about using coupons at Target? Check with a Guest Services Team Leader at your Target store. You can also give us a call at (800) 440-0680, or visit us on Target.com. Either way, we're here to help!

Thanks for shopping with us. We'll see you again soon at Target.

Sincerely,

Rodney

Printable coupons are considered a manufacturers coupon, correct?

I am planning on printing out that reply to use if I have a problem with the cashier.  Hopefully it will help.

Printable coupons are usually manufacturer coupons - except Target Web Coupons.

Thanks for your email Amy.  I just got off the phone with corporate.  They said that their coupon policy has not changed, and that what I was told in the store was incorrect.  They will mail me a letter that states their coupon policy, and they recommend carrying with you so if you have any problems, you can show the checker/manager.

I asked her if she could email it to me, and she said it can only be mailed.  If any of you would like a copy, send me a personal message, and I'll scan it, and email it to you when it comes.  I am happy to know that things haven't changed.   Wink

I am so sorry some of you had trouble using the coupons - when I posted the clearance I had just used 7 coupons for 7 aquafresh and 2 coupons on the garnier - they all scanned in no questions asked - and even with the extra cents I made off the toothpaste - maybe you had a cranky checker - just to clarify mine were the coupons out of the sunday papers - hope this helps Smiley

Thank you so much for posting!  I am sorry if you felt like you were responsible for the error--don't ever feel bad for posting.  It was a miscommunication with Target (which is resolved).  Thank you so much for the post!  It really helped me out, as I am sure others benefitted from it.  Thanks again!  Cheesy
