I am living in a house with all lever-style locks on the doors.  My toddler has quickly figured this out and I need a lock for them.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I can only see two options on the internet, a Safety 1st and a Kidco.  The kidco looks nice, but someone posted that it disables the door from the other side possibly locking someone in a room.  That really won't work!  Does anyone have any suggestions, advice, or a more frugal way of doing this?  I'm at my wits end with a toddler that can access every room in my house!

When my children were small, to keep them out of certain rooms, my husband actually turned the lever knob upside down -so to open you actually have to push up rather than push down the lever-  worked great!  just a suggestion...

I had the safety first ones and I loved them - they have a slider on the bottom of the lock that slides back and forth to keep them from pulling the lever down at all so you can't open it - this would make it so you could technically lock someone from one side but it wiould be the outside - ex the outside of their bedroom - the outside of the pantry - and if it bothered you that much you could keep the sliders on the open / left side when you didn't have to have the locks on and only lock them when you needed to - if heaven forbid anyone did get locked in - which never happened even once you can take the door handle off to get through the door - you have to take them off to put the door locks on anyways - hope this helps Smiley
