It's not easy being green.

I'm hoping some of you busy moms out there can give me some advice.  I am WAY behind on clipping my coupons, and feeling pretty overwhelmed! I work full time, but worse, I am organizationally challenged.  I have a hard time finding (making?) the time to clip coupons, chase down deals, etc.  Any great hints? I'd appreciate anything, I'm feeling like I'm wasting the $$ on the 5 papers because I'm not fully utilizing them.  Undecided Thanks!

I would definitely start with this next Sunday's coupons - and forget about the former weeks.  Keep them together and only clip when the deals come up.  Follow Amy's emails and use the shopping wizard for other items you need to buy.  Take a big breath and start over again.  Make time 1 hour a week (actually put it on the calendar) and you should start to get caught up.  Good Luck!

I go through the coupons every Sunday when they come and clip what I know I need or will use (sometimes only a couple or even none), then I mark the front with the date (big black marker) and keep them in my binder in order of dates.  That way, I don't have to clip, sort and file everything if I am not going to use it and I can easily find the insert that I need to clip another coupon from when I need to.  It seems to work for me.  HTH  Smiley

Thanks for the good advice! I really like the idea of only clipping what i KNOW I'll need and marking the rest with the date...somethings I don't usually use, but a deal will come up that makes it worth trying! I'll take a deep breath and start with today's coupons. Thanks again!  Smiley

I was recently two months behind on clipping. I decided I would set the timer for 15 minutes each day and only clip that long. Within two weeks I was amazed that I was completely caught up. I would start with the most recent coupons and work backwards. I noticed the farther back I got the less I had to clip because a lot were already expired. I also only clipped those things which I actually buy. Gook luck!

That's a fantastic idea.  15 minutes each day isn't bad and with such a short time you can really go at it the whole 15 minutes (and this strategy can be used in so many different areas).

Thanks!

Now 15 minutes sounds doable! I started out on Sunday, and the kids came in, the dog walked through the coupons...I think I'll shut myself in my room for 15 minutes a night.  Surely they can spare me THAT long!
Thanks for all the great advice!
