I don't know if any of you have thought about this, but we put our 72 hour kits in a rolling backpack.  Everything fits great and the little kids can roll theirs instead of carrying so much weight.  They are easy to carry and with all the extra pockets organizing is a cinch.  I also thought that you could make a rolling gurney by tying a few together, for an injured person,  if you needed to.  We found decent packs at walmart for $10.  You can also find them after school starts and ends on clearance.

I have seen them at several different stores - Kohl's, Target, Walmart and others.  Post here if you find a good deal or another location!
