Oreos are a SURVIVAL item in my world!

WWW
« on: October 04, 2006, 09:44:43 PM »

Becoming more prepared can be completely overwhelming so a list has been compiled of things to purchase/stock up on using a weekly calendar of 50 weeks (no one wants to stock up for 2 weeks at Christmas time).  October covers weeks 40 - 44.  I will post each week separately so that you can see what to be purchasing.

These items may or may not be on sale but if you follow these threads, you should be doing very well.  With all your coupon savings you can use that $$ to purchase these items.

Before you decide what to do you do need to set a goal - is it 1 month of everything your family needs?  How about 3 months, 6 months or are you going for the full year?  Set that goal, use a tracking program (there is a WONDERFUL CD available to purchase that helps you KNOW what you need and how to track it) and then shop.  PM Me for more details.

NOVEMBER - WEEKS 45-48

WEEK 45: Hot Drink Mixes, Hot Cocoa, Hot Cider, Herbal Teas
WEEK 46: Holiday canned foods, pumpkin, condensed milk, cranberries, olives, yams, nuts
WEEK 47: Holiday baking treats, nuts, chips, sprinkles
WEEK 48: Breakfast foods, pancake/waffle mix, syrup, cold cerels, granola, breakfast bars

Remember, you are getting your goal amount for these items, for example, chocolate chips on sale?  Then get enough to hold you over until the next one (that could be alot if you bake a ton).  Remember to check out the SHOPPING WIZARD and see which stores have these items on sale.  If they aren't on sale yet, you can still use the COUPON INDEX and see if we have coupons to go with these items to make your deals better.  PM me if you have any questions - I'm here to help!

NOVEMBER - WEEKS 49-50

WEEK 49: Grains, oatmeal, cream of wheat, grits, hot cereal (I WOULD WAIT UNTIL ALBERTSONS JAN. QUAKER SALE)
WEEK 50: Candles & Matches (candles are a great neighbor gift to get & give)

I will put up a month by month list starting in January - I am trying to match sales with these items, but again, if you just are trying to get your year's supply, this is a good way to do it.
