Redbox has extended their Free Rental Monday's to also include Free Wednesday Rentals.

I know alot of people can't get these Free Movie texts, so I'm going to try and post them each week...

Can someone please explain what this means?  THis is the first time I've heard of anything like this.  You can rent any movie from that redbox machine on Moneday or Wednesday for free?  Is that how it works?

Correct.  There is a button that says rent movie with promo code (or something like that).  You type in your code and if it works at that location you can then select a movie for free.  You then just need to return it by 9:00 pm the next day to avoid the $1 fee.  You do have to swipe a credit card or debit card as an insurance that you'll return it and they will temporarily put a $1 charge on it that will erase after you return the movie.  It's completely free and a great way to get some of the newer movies.

How do you sign up to get the text message for the free code?  I went on their website and didn't see anywhere about the free rentals.  Thanks!!

I went to redbox.com and clicked on the help on the top right hand side of the page.  Then the 5th question down "How can I receive promotional codes for free redbox rentals and other offers?" has a link that you can click on that takes you to the page.  You have to sign up with your cell phone number and carrier, and then you'll get the text message every week.  I usually get mine around 11-11:30 in the morning.  I hope this helps!!! :wav:

For those of us whose cell phone service doesn't include text messages, would anyone be willing to post the code on this website every monday and wednesday?

Also, remember that these free codes will work once PER credit/debit card.  So if you have multiple cards you can get more free rentals.  But remember it's only a one day free rental, so if you keep the movie longer than that you will be charged.

By the way...Is it possible to reserve a movie online AND use a promo code when you get it at the box?

I think you can only use one promo code per transaction/credit card.  So if you use two different credit cards, you can do one right after the other.  Neither is charged, but the credit card will be used just in case you don't return it within 24 hours.

Yes, I'm aware you can use one code per card, per transaction, but I reserved a movie online and when I picked it up at the redbox, I didn't think to use my code. I didn't notice if the option to enter a code was there or I just didn't notice it.

To the best of my knowledge you can not use a promo code for a movie that is reserved on-line.

it asks you for the promo code right when you do it online!!

Because Online rentals are a premium service allowing redbox customers to secure their DVDs before picking them up, redbox is only accepting promotion codes for in-person redbox rentals at any redbox location."

I haven't been getting Wednesday codes for a while.  I think it may have been a promo that is over. :-\

The Wednesday code promo was through May and possibly the first part of June but it is definitely over now.  :'(
