I assumed that meant I couldn't use them with the Albertson's double coupon coupons, but I mistakenly brought some that said "Do Not Double" and thought I'd just try it and if they said "nope", that would be that, no biggie. Well,the lady took them and doubled them for me. So, I thought that it was ok, so I tried it again the next week and the cashier said they couldn't take them since they say "Do not double". Now I'm confused. What exactly does it mean when it says "do not double" on the coupon? Can I use it in conjunction with the Albertson's "twice the value" coupons or not? I don't want to irritate them every time I come in with one that says "do not double" if I'm really not supposed to be using them.

It is up to the cashier, some do, and some don't. I've never had a problem doubling a coupon that said "Do Not Double" but I believe it is up to the Cashier's discretion. HTH!

Basically they're saying if a store chooses to double the coupon, the store will "eat" or take a loss on the double. (If the coupon is for $1.00 and they double it to $2.00 - the store will only get reimbursed for $1.08) In my experience in CA most coupons will double with no problem if the barcode starts with a 5. Most blinkies start with a 9 and state "do not double". Honestly, I don't know why a store would double one coupon and not another. It's their loss either way. However, I too have heard of stores refusing to double the DND (do not double) coupons. So, I guess buyer beware. They have Oscar Mayer hot dogs on sale for $.98. If you use the $1 off of two packages coupon that came in the newspaper last week and double it, you get 2 packages of hot dogs for FREE :) :) :) It looks like you can get up to 4 packs of hot dogs at this price. They also have Breyers ice cream on sale for $2.50, and it ends up being $.50 if you double the $1 off coupon :)

They did allow me to go out to my car and come back in to do my other 3 sets. Took a little longer but was totally worth it for the super great deals that I got.

Someone at AF Albies told me-doubles have little #s in the corner (1-6) and I was told that you could use more than 3 if they had different #s on them (meaning 1,2,3,4,5,6 but not 1,2,3,1,2,3) but then by the time I got to the chekout, the cashier said it was only one set/day so it really just depends on where you go and who your cashier is. If, for example, you buy two hot dogs at .98/ea for a total of $1.96 and you use your $1/2 coupon, you CAN double that coupon. They are supposed to only double the coupon up to .96. Make sense? You CAN double that coupon and get the free hot dogs. There is nothing dishonest about that. It's tricky and sometimes the cashier doesn't catch it and so they double it for the $1.00 amount.

And in all of my experience with using double coupons, the cashiers always double the coupons with the highest amount (but not over $1) no matter what the price of the item was. If it ever turns out that they "owe" me money, or that I am not paying taxes for all items purchased, they always go in and over-ride the coupon amount so that I am paying what I need to be.
So I don't feel like doubling the hot dog coupon was dishonest, but Amy please correct me if I am wrong since you have a lot more experience with this than I do!!! The coupon actually reads "Max Value $1.00". That means you could double a coupon under $1.00 and thus they could override the coupon to get them free. Make sense? Most stores now "override" any coupon with overage to give you only the price of the item. (Stores getting the full value back from the mfr is another issue entirely.) :)

I didn't know the Dr. Pepper was included in the soda promotion, but you buy 4 and get the 5th for free just like all the other sodas.
