Ask them if they participate in the birthday rewards program? I hate awkward freebie moments and if I have all the info, I feel much better! :)
Here's another to add to the list: ToysRUS Register for the kids club with Toys R US and get a $3 gift card (for purchases $3 or More) sent to you on your birthday. We signed up in the store. Not sure on what the cut off age is (may be 10). You have to fill it out there, and then they mail it to you around your child's birthday. They have great pizza!
