I NEVER met a sale I didn't like!

Just FYI:

Wal-Mart Coupon Policy

 Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):

    * Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
    * Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
    * Store coupons
    * Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
    * Internet coupons
    * Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:

    * Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
    * Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
    * Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon."  There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
    * Only one coupon per item is permitted.
    * Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

I was just at the Springville Walmart, and she said that they are no longer accepting printable coupons, and I asked for the manager and she said that it is all Walmarts, not just Springville, but some cashiers don't know it, and will still take them.  Undecided I called Walmart corporate, and they said that this is something that you have to discuss with your local Walmart management.   Cry  Has anyone else heard anything recently?

I was told that my Wal-Mart (AF) doesn't accept them either, but I haven't had a problem with them taking them.  According to their corprate coupon policy, they should.  I would just print it out and take it in with you when you go so you have something to show the cashier/manager.  I guess it's really a YMMV. Got an email from Walmart Corporate which gives a bit more detail on what they will accept for internet coupons:

Wal-Mart Stores can accept coupons that are available on the internet
 for customers to print from their home computers.  The following are
 guidelines for the stores for accepting internet coupons:

- The coupon should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon".  There
 should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer, to ensure the
 coupon can be processed for payment.
- The coupon should have a scan-able bar code.
- The coupon should have an expiration date.
- The coupon cannot be a photocopy.
- The limit is one coupon per item, per Customer.
- A Salaried Manager can refuse to accept a coupon if it does not meet
 any or all of these guidelines.

Thank you,
Customer Relations

I thought it was helpful.   Wink

What do you mean by "coupon matching policy"?  If you are referring to them taking other "store coupons" such as a Albertson or Walgreens coupon, I don't think they do, but they will match the ad price, as long as it isn't a Buy 1 Get 1 free, or involves instant rebates (such as buy 20 items, get 5.00 off instantly).

Really, it varies from Walmart to Walmart.  Some Walmarts such as the Springville Walmart, won't even take printable coupons, even though corporate says that they should.

I have found with Walmart, that it really varies from store to store.  Hope this is helpful.   Smiley

I was in the AF Walmart tonight.  I purchased a item that I had them price match for a Macey's sale price.  At the end of the transaction I gave the cashier a manufacturer's coupon for that item.  She told me that she couldn't use the coupon because Walmart's new coupon policy, as of two days ago, was to no longer accept a price match and a manufacturer's coupon for the same item, that it can only be the price match or the manufacturer's coupon, but not both.  I said that it didn't make sense because Walmart gets reimbursed for the coupon and that people will just go get the deal at the original store that had the sale.  I asked to speak to the CSM to make sure that it was indeed the case and the CSM said the same thing and that the cashiers can get a "pink slip" or something like that written up if they take a coupon for a price matched item.  Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem yet or if this is just AF or all Walmart stores?  Does anyone know?

I moved up from las vegas last year and none of the wal-marts there will take any printed coupon either - I was actually surprised to find they take them here - I have always used mine at the AF Wal-Mart too and never had a problem at that location

When they say Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons, what exactly does that mean?  Will they honor the Riteaid 25 gift card coupon I have if I transfer a prescription there?  That would be nice since I keep getting those coupons and have no more I can transfer there.

Yes, Wal-Mart will accept these.  I just transferred one to them and used a Rite-Aid coupon and they gave me the $20 gift card with no problems!

When did you use the Rite-Aid coupon there? I dropped off a transfer Friday and they said they do NOT take them anymore. This was the Walmart in A.F.
Thanks!

The manager at the AF pharmacy informed me that they no longer accept competitor's coupons (she said that it was a decision that could be made on a store-level and when pressed further she said that it could also be reversed on a store-level).  I have sent in letters and made phone calls to express my displeasure.  Hopefully, they will change it back.  For now, Rite-aid, Smith's, & Abertson's will still accept competitor's coupons, there could be others.  I found some of the pharmacy coupons on eBay for a $30.00 gift card.
