The award winning Easy Reader Phonics Kits (1 & 2) are marked down to only $6 (regularly $19.99).  Each kit has 4 books, making each book only $1.50.  Free shipping code WT8VFS, still works.

I forgot the link earlier, but here it is:

Do you need a pad or anything for the phonic kits?  Huh?

I believe these go with the Leap Pad (like the Read and Write one.)  It mentions four fun interactive LeapPad books, so I think you need the system.  It also advertises the system on the page that you could order with it.  I ordered the kits so when they come in a couple weeks I'll know more.

There are a few items that are currently out of stock and I called Leap Pad and the customer service rep didn't know when and even if they'd be back in stock. Are the items 70% off because they're going to discontinue them?

I have a 20 mo. old so is it worth checking back for the My First leap pad, or should I just buy the Read & Write leap pad & books? Also, if I order some items now with the free shipping code, can I order stuff later with the same credit card & purchaser info. and use the free shipping code again? (The rep didn't know that either; she wasn't helpful at all.)

thanks!

They do have a new product coming out in June that might replace a lot of the leap pad stuff (especially since they are permanently reduced).  The new product is called Tag and you can see a preview of it here:
http://www.leapfrog.com/tag/

It'll probably be as expensive as the regular price books and I don't think it will work with any of the current books.  I'm happy to get a deal now and use the current leap pad.  I also like that the current leap pad gives you a surface to hold the book, where the new one is a pen that you use with just a book.  I don't have any experience with the Read and Write Leap Pad yet, so I can't tell you which one to get, but I do like our My First Leap Pad for my almost 3 year old (33 months).

I hope that helps a little.....

I have ordered 3 times using the free shipping code because I keep finding things I want to buy that I did not see the first time.  I have used the same credit card and address all 3 times so I don't think it matters how many times you use it.  It has been a great sale!!!

Free shipping code possibly ends February 14th - maybe sooner.  They have some sales ending that day and I heard from someone the shipping will end then too.

I only ordered two books for our little touch leap pad. Which is pretty much all they had left. We got them UPS today and my daughter has been playing with her leap pad for the first time. Thank you DORA! LoL.
Thanks for the heads up on this sale. I think it's going to save us a little grief when we do our annual twelve hour drive each way in March to my parents.

Online the read and write leap pads are $17.42.  I'm not sure if they are that price in the store or not.
