mail-in rebates
«
on:

In the weekly emails, when it says "price after mail-in rebate," does that mean that I am supposed to find a rebate coupon in the inserts? Or...does the product have the rebate attached? Or does the cashier? How do mail-in rebates work...and how long does it take to get the money back?
Thanks

Depending on what store you are purchasing at, a mail-in rebate is what you send in after purchasing the product. For example, at RiteAid, they have single check rebates...I love RiteAid because you can enter the receipt information online and they'll send you a check. Walgreen's has mail rebates, which means after you purchase a product, you must make copies of your receipt and tally sheet and send everything in through the mail. It takes longer, and is much less convenient than RiteAid. ShopKo is the same way as Walgreen's, I believe. RiteAid will send out a check each month...and I assume Walgreen's is the same way. Hope that helps a little.

If it says the price is after mail in rebate, and there is not an insert listed, you should be able to pick up a rebate booklet at the store. Walgreen's keeps theirs up front by the ads. I usually get my rebate from Walgreen's within a month. That is the only on close enough for me to shop at so the only one I know. On the rebates that come in the inserts, there will usually be a time frame listed in the small print. Some will take up to 12 weeks.

Oh, and do you like rebates, or is it a pain to wait?

I personally HATE mail-in rebates! You can save a lot of money, but they sure can be a pain!

I love RiteAid because you can use your rebate check to buy more rebates at the store AND they're super easy to enter online. I'm NOT a fan of Walgreen's rebates because I don't have a brain (after having 4 kids), so I just can't remember to send it all in after making copies. PLUS, the price of a stamp has gone up so much that I hardly ever have them around my house!

Speaking of rebates - did anyone else send in for the Heineken $25 rebate? That's the one I'm waiting for. The earliest I should have received it was a week ago, so I'm hoping it comes soon. It seems like the Budweiser ones always came fairly quickly, so I was hoping this one would too.

Which rebate was that? What did you have to buy....was is deli items? I'll have to check and see if I've received that one back. I thought I'd received them all.....if not, cool. I could use $25 right now!
