« on: May 12, 2008, 08:59:58 AM »

Kind of an interesting mail in coupon:

Smartsource 5/11:

Send in 5 coupons from any cereal brands other than Post Honey Bunches of Oats (Expiring later than 4/1/08) and get a coupon by mail for a FREE box of Honey Bunches of Oats.

(You can send in your expired coupons)  Smiley

I thought this coupon was really interesting too.  I didn't particularly like the way they are trying to steal business from other companies.  It's one thing to make your prices competitive, but I think this is a little too much for me!

I somewhat agree, but you can give them expired coupons that would have simply been thrown out and it shouldn't hurt the competition.

For us, they won't be stealing any business from another company, Honey Bunches of Oats is a family favorite!!  Even the 2 year old loves it.  I love that I can send in my expired coupons (or ones that my family won't eat) and get FREE cereal.  Sounds like a great trade to me. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I was just thinking about this offer, and I realized that I haven't paid 42 cents (the price of a stamp) for a box of cereal for quite a while.  Honey Bunches of Oats is good, but I have so many other cereals that I have gotten for 25 cents a box!  Isn't that crazy that I figure in the price of a stamp and decide I don't want to do it!? LOL!!  I never thought about that!  I guess that does make the cereal about the same or more than what I have been paying.  I guess it is great for those "un-savvy" shoppers. Wink

Since next weeks Smith's thread isn't up yet, I thought I'd post this here:

At www.onespoonful.com there is a $2 off coupon for the Honey Bunches of Oats with Chocolate Clusters cereal.  I'm not sure if you can print it only once per computer or twice.  I printed one several months ago and it let me print another one today.  With the cereal going on sale tomorrow 4 for $4, with two coupons you could get all 4 for free, or at least make them only $0.50 each if you only had one coupon.

Are the chocolate clusters any good?  We really did not like the Life with chocolate clusters.

My family had the same experience.  I bought a ton of the Life with chocolate clusters and the only one that will eat it is me (just because I don't like to waste anything!)  I wish we could sample everything before we buy.  It seems the more I get of something, the less likely my family is to like it!   Undecided

I personally haven't tried it, but thought I'd get two boxes of the chocolate and then get two of the Peach and at least the peach will be free.  I'll give the chocolate a try since it'll be free.

And if you don't like it, you can always donate the other box to the food bank.  Hopefully someone would like it. Wink  I take it the peach is good?  We have only tried the plain one and the one with almonds and love them both.

I think the peach and the plain is my favorite.  Strawberry is okay, but I really like the other two.  I didn't think I would like the peach, but got one box at one of the sales and was totally surprised.  I wish I had gotten more.

Another place to get a $2 coupon:

Thanks for the great coupon find!  I think you can only print one per week.
