Walmart will match the prices, but not until the store you want them to match from opens.  So if you are at Walmart at 5 and want to match the price of an item from a store that doesn't open until 6, the will not match the ad until 6.  Also, they will not match any price past the time advertised.  If a sale is going from 6-9, you have to match it between those times.

Has anyone heard about the Mod Bod Shirts going on sale the night of Thanksgiving?  Last year it was CRAZY, but there was some great deals!

I was 6th in line last year and it WAS crazy. (But fun!)  I haven't heard anything but I'll look into it!  Smiley

Wow!  I haven't posted in a long time! (we moved- crazy experience, took a trip to see parents in Colorado)  I feel like I'm out of the loop on everything!

So... I have never gone Black Friday shopping.  For those of you who have done it, is it worth getting up so early, waiting in lines, beating the crowds?  I love the rush of getting a great deal, but I'm not sure if I want to get up so early, waiting to find parking spots, the possibility of leaving empty handed.

From you seasoned Black Friday shoppers, what's your take on it?  Any suggestions on the best way to accomplish all the shopping you would like to in one day?

Thanks ladies!  Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

If you are going for one of the few Big Items I would have to say that I think it isn't worth it....It is a blood bath!!!  But If you are going to get some good deals, if you can, and get into the "shopping" spirit...then it can be fun!!

I have witnessed enough violence, and heard enough anger on black friday to make me stay away from the early morning rush!!

Good luck!!!

I'm with you.  I've decided to hang back a few hours and shop the weekend sales versus the early morning boxing match!  Smiley

I have always gone shopping way before the sun comes up the day after Thanksgiving. I have done it since I was a little girl, and I LOVE it! It is one of the highlights of my year. We usually go with all the girls on my moms side of the family. I would recommend going with others so you can split up and get different items on your shopping list. We also have someone stand in line, while we grab the stuff. This is the fastest way we have found to get in and get out of the stores, so we can get to the next one quick.
Then we always go out to breakfast and then out to lunch. It is so much fun, and has become a tradition in my family as well. (Maybe it's just nice to get a break from the kids  Wink)I would highly recommend it at least once. Then you will know if "black friday" is for you or not.

I went once - last year - and hope to NEVER go again!!  My in-laws are big on it and so I decided to give it a try with them to see what it is all about.  It was CRAZY!!  I went just for the Cabbage Patches and they were litterally being thrown all over the place.  What ever was left 5 minutes after shopping started was smashed.  This year I am giving my MIL my shopping list and letting her enjoy it.Cheesy  Not that I could go even if I wanted to, I am at my parents in never never land. I LOVE black friday!!!  I have gone with my aunt and my mom for the past 6 or 7 years!!!!  I've been getting bummed last year and this year the sales don't seem to be as good.  I always get ALL of my Christmas shopping done on Black Friday.  We start at 3 or 4 in the morning and hit all the good sales and then I spend the rest of the day picking up everything else I need, I usually shop for 15 hours.  This year I was done Christmas shopping in July, but I am still going.  I'm going to get some stuff I want-- a Kitchenaid mixer and new towels for my NEW house!!

It is definitely a rush when you go first thing in the morning and are able to get what you want.  I have done it many times.  But as you may have seen by my late night posts - I am a night owl, definitely not an early bird.  Waking up at 4 am nearly kills me  sleepy1 .  I decided last year to get all my shopping done before Thanksgiving - and I did.  toothy12  But I will still be hitting the stores @ 9 am just for the pure fun of it all!  Cheesy

I'm with Amy.  First of all I am a night owl, and second I try to get all my shopping done before Thanksgiving.  But there are some great deals out there if you don't mind waking up early.  I went last year to Walmart and asked a lady if they had any more of a certain toy in stock, and she looked at me like I was crazy and said, "those were gone by 6:15 a.m.".  I would say go as early as you can, but if you do, there are some good deals.  Happy Thanksgiving!
