We have a very active 5 year old and a 2 1/2 year old.  They can be a handful at times but LOVE to play together.  I pay my favorite babysitters $5/hour as long as they are awake.  I personally feel like I want to pay them more so if a job comes between me and another mom she will choose me  Cheesy  I am more than happy to pay for someone who actually PLAYS with my kids...it makes it a good experience for everyone and I can trust they are having fun.

It's not easy being green.

Paying $4-$5 seems kinda steep, unless it's for several kids...I had my youngest at an in-home daycare, and they were charging $2.69 an hour, and that included food.

This is one area I am willing to pay a little extra for.  I want those who watch my children to want to be there and do a good job, so I pay a little more.  I relate it to my kid's teachers in school.  I always help out in the class room and try to be room mom - so the teachers watch out for them a little more (Not that they play favorites) and know I will help them in anyway possible.
