I'm not sure where to put this, but they announced in our ward that the Utah food bank is dangerously low on food (meaning almost none) heading into the holiday season.  I figured that since couponing helps us get so much, almost too much sometimes, I just wanted to post it here that if anyone has excess, I'm sure the food bank and the people in need would be grateful for it!

The reports say that the Utah County Food bank usually needs about 800,000 pounds for the next few months but due to demand, they are now looking to find 1,000,000 pounds of food!  Time to rotate out some of those great deals we found, Savvy Shoppers, and share the good fortune with those who are not as well off.

SCOUTING FOR FOOD

An emergency Scouting for Food collection drive is planned for Nov. 8 in Utah.
All three of the Scout councils in the state are joining forces to help local food banks, whose cupboards are almost bare.
Scouts will follow the same procedure as during regular food drives and collect all items by noon that day, with the exception of participants using their own grocery bags to bag the goods donated this time around.
Needed are all commercially packaged foods tuna, other meats, peanut butter, vegetables and fruits. Also needed are toiletries. No glass containers are permitted.
