I'm a little confused by all the coupon/rebate combos there seem to be available at Walgreens.  A couple questions:

1.  If I have 5 manufacturer coupons that I want to combine with a Walgreens in-store coupon (the kind that are in the Sunday Walgreens ad), do I need 5 Walgreens in-store coupons, or can I just cut out one and use it with all my manufacturer coupons?

2.  What is the deal with the Easy Saver Catalog?  Are the coupons different than the ones in the Sunday ads?  And again, would you need to pick up more than one Easy Saver catalog if you wanted to get more than one of a product that was on sale?

3.  Last question, I had a $3 register reward that I tried to use on my last purchase at Walgreens and the cash register wouldn't accept it.  Does anyone know why that might be?  My total was way over $3, so I don't know why I couldn't use it and neither did the cashier checking me out.

I know I could probably get these questions answered at Walgreens, but the cashier I did try to ask last time didn't seem to know much about their coupons and register rewards and was about as confused as I was...so I thought I'd try the Pros here!

Thanks!

You only need one of the Walgreens coupons per transaction and it will apply to all that you buy.

2.  What is the deal with the Easy Saver Catalog?  Are the coupons different than the ones in the Sunday ads?  And again, would you need to pick up more than one Easy Saver catalog if you wanted to get more than one of a product that was on sale?
Yes, the Easy Saver coupons are different than the ones in the Sunday ad. These are good during the whole rebate period, and I've found that the items that there are coupons for in the booklet, go on sale most of the time (if not all the time) during the rebate period. You also only need one of these coupons per transaction even if you buy more than one item (the discount will be taken off each item). Also, the Walgreens I've been to just scan the coupon in the book...I don't even need to cut it out.

3.  Last question, I had a $3 register reward that I tried to use on my last purchase at Walgreens and the cash register wouldn't accept it.  Does anyone know why that might be?  My total was way over $3, so I don't know why I couldn't use it and neither did the cashier checking me out.
If there weren't any restrictions on the coupon (if you were buying items that were okay to use it on) the cashier probably wasn't pushing the right button(s) before they scanned it. I would maybe ask her to ask for help because it should work if you're not buying any prohibited items...you should be able to use it like cash.

I know I could probably get these questions answered at Walgreens, but the cashier I did try to ask last time didn't seem to know much about their coupons and register rewards and was about as confused as I was...so I thought I'd try the Pros here!

Thanks!
Thanks for asking the questions. I'm sure they'll help other people as well! Hope I answered your questions. If not, let me know...and if anyone else has anything to add please do.  Cheesy

To add to the third question:  I have found that at Walgreens you can't have more coupons than you do items.  So if I buy say 4 items and have a coupon for each it won't let me use a register reward.  But if the coupons are say $1 off of 2 items and I buy 4 items, then I am only using 2 coupons for 4 items and it will let me use it.

I just make sure if I have a coupon for every item and also have a register reward I throw in a pack of gum or a candy bar or something that I don't have a coupon for and it has always worked for me.

I hope that all made sense.

Just to add to what vanhouten.katie said.  I have found that rule only applies to MANUFACTURER Coupons.  So, the in ad coupons and Easy Saver Catalog coupons are not considered part of that count.  Register Rewards are considered Manufacturer coupons.  For example if I buy three items and have three in-ad coupons and three MF coupons I'm good.  But if I try to pay with a Register Reward I'll need to add a filler.

I like to grab the Walgreens purse tissues for my filler.  They cost $.29 and are right there by the candy at the checkout.  Less chocolate for my hips and kids always have runny noses that need to be wiped.

Yes, thanks ladies. I forgot about one manufacture coupon per item...(I think the register treats the catalina as a coupon). I haven't had to buy filler items for along time.  Smiley

Wow, thanks everyone!  I think I've got it all figured out now.  The problem with my register rewards was most likely related to the manufacturer coupons I was using.  Next time that happens I'll add a low cost item and see if that works.  I knew all the pros out there would get me straightened out, so thanks so much for the quick response!
