I never thought I would be asking this kind of a question, but we were thinking of buying one of these for our Christmas this year. Does anyone have any preferences? Where is the best place to buy one? Thanks

I like the Wii because of the active playing in the most of the games.  We weren't tempted to get any system until the Nintendo Wii came out.  The X-box has one game I really like (Scene It), that I hope will come to the Wii one day.

I say wii because it is so interactive with all of the gadgets it has. It is not just a game that you will sit and use only your thumbs. They are starting to use the wii in nursing homes and physical therapy so people with limited mobility can get exercise.

My vote is also for the Wii.  I never even thought about buying my kids any sort of game console until the Wii came along.  My kids love playing it and they get a little bit of exercise while they're doing it.  It's a win-win in my book!

We love our Wii!!!  I just saw it at Costco on Saturday for $244.  It is $250 everywhere else and I have NEVER seen it go in sale.  I hope this helps! Smiley

Definitely the Nintendo Wii!  Just make sure you don't pay more than $250 for the console (which includes everything you need to start- 1 Wii remote, the sensor bar, Wii Sports, etc).  Anything more than that is a rip-off.  If you look at the various Wii Bundles available, price out what the MSRP of the different things in the bundle are seperately and add them up to make sure you aren't paying more than necessary (there are lots of those out there) and make sure you actually want everything in the bundle.  If you want a second remote, I recommend you get Wii Play- it contains 9 fairly basic games and comes with a remote for $50 (only $10 more than buying a second remote alone, or if you can manage to get it off of costco.com, it's a slightly better deal).  Target has a great sale on Wii Games this week- Buy 2, Get 1 free ($49.99 and under games).

IF YOU OPEN A TARGET CARD THEN YOU CAN GET 10% OFF YOUR PURCHASE FOR THE DAY!  THIS MAKES IT'S OWN GREAT SALE FOR THE WII OR XBOX.

I had a really tough time getting a Wii bc the ads come out on Sundays and since I don't shop on Sunday, they're always sold out everywhere before I'm able to get one. You can put your name on a waiting list at RC Willey, but you have to put money down. You can also order them on-line. I got mine for the retail price on-line at Toys R Us. HTH

If you are heading out of town at all between now and when you wanted to get your Wii, we have had the best luck with that. We got ours last summer when you couldn't get them at all in Utah in Arizona. There was like 5 on the shelf at the Walmart there. Then we looked and looked for the Wii fit here in Utah and again couldn't find it. We finally found it at the Walmart in Mesquite. Again they had a ton on the shelf. So if you have relatives that live somewhere else and are traveling to you or if you are traveling somewhere check there.

I'm not sure where you are located, but the Sandy Walmart has the Wii System a lot and the Wii Fit fairly often.  I walk by just for fun each time I go, so that I can possibly help someone who is looking.  You can also check Blockbuster (they tend to sell theirs slower), Game Stop/EB Games and places like that.  You can also go to wiialerts.com or a website like that and they'll send you a link when certain stores have them availalble online.  We used this to find our Wii when they were hard to find.

Wii's are getting considerably easier to find.  I see them frequently at Target now and the store ads seem to advertise them more often (which suggests to me that the demand has decreased, allowing them to get more in stock more often).  But, as we are approaching the Christmas season, I'm sure the demand will be increasing again.

Are there any Wii games for preschoolers?  I'm trying to think of things to keep him busy while his siblings are at school.  Smiley
