Okay, so now what are the best games out there for the Wii? Which ones should I start with first? I have kids ages 1-11.

I heard that Costco or Sams had them for a deal on Black Friday last year, but they were gone in a jiff. Preschoolers would love Diego. .. . Bowling...

Wii Fit is my favorite game. It makes it fun to exercise, but it does involve purchasing an exercise board which makes it more expensive. Kids age 3, 5, 11, 13, 15, 17, 39 & 44 LOVE IT!

We are trying to decide b/w the WII or X-box too. We just found out the X-box went down to $199. What a jump in price. I still don't if it is worth it though.

I would recommend the Wii. The biggest problem with most Wii bundles is they come with games that are not that great. The only exception seems to be Costco bundles. If you want to know if a game is worth buying, look at the prices of the used games on Amazon. Based on the used price and the reviews, you can get a good idea whether or not it is worth buying. My six year old daughter spent way too many hours playing super mario galaxy.

The Wii Sports that come with it will be fun. I'd recommend the Wii Play since it is packaged with remote and then it's like getting the game for $10 (and there are some fun ones on there). You also might like a car game like Mario Kart. My kids (3 and 6 love it). We enjoy love the Wii Fit (I recently achieved "normal" - wahoo!!). We haven't tried too many other games. I'm hoping Walmart will get more games on their 2 for $30 deal that I'd like to try.

We have the Wii fit and we absolutly love it. We have only been playing the games that came with it but are hoping to get a few more games for Christmas. Even just with the games that come with it, it is hours of fun. My six year old has been playing only the Wii fit since we got it. She has totally forgotten about the rest of the Wii games that we have. It is a great way for your kids (and lets face it, adults too) to get their wiggles out during the winter when it is to cold or wet to go outside. It keeps the cabin fever away.

In our household it has been worth it. I use it differently than the rest of the family (I love the goals and graphs that show my weight loss progress.) My kids love the games.

They have the Wii console available on Amazon for $249. This won't last very long.

My husband was mentioning today maybe we could get a Wii. We already have a gamecube though and the graphics do not seem any better on the wii. Since gamecube already has different multi-player, social games I don't think I'm convinced to make this purchase. And besides isn't the x-box 360 much better graphically as well as known for playing dvds and online gaming?

Wii is really the best to get for ages 1-11. they can actually use the controllers. My kids- ages 4 and 6 can play all the games. another thing I really like about Wii is that they have a lot of 1 player games that have a "helper" for the little ones. My husband likes to play Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl (that's fabulous) and my 4 year old can have a player but not be responsible for the actual game playing and can't die. Maybe that sounds confusing. Anyways, we have an XBOX and the controls are way too big for little hands and confusing. So, if your going for something kid friendly- get a Wii. Get it at Costco if you can because it comes with extra stuff. HTH

My six year old uses both the computer (she likes to play WOW) and the Wii. A lot of the games on the Xbox are also released for the PC. I didn't see a reason to buy an Xbox since I have several computers that can be used for gaming. I realize not everything is available for the PC. I bought the Wii to get people to move while playing. We have Dance Dance Revolution, Wii Fit and a bunch of other games. This is the first console that I have ever purchased.
I have noticed that Amazon has had the Wii available a lot lately for $249. It seems like the demand has dropped off, but I suspect there will be a shortage just before Christmas.
