Scouting For Food Drive Saturday, November 8, 2008

The Utah National Parks Council is doing an emergency Scouting for Food Drive on November 8th to help Community Action Food Banks meet the increased need in the community. Please give generously.

Please fill grocery sacks from any store (with the items listed below) and put them on your porch. The Scouts will come by and pick up the bags.
Please place the donations outside your door by 8 a.m.

When setting aside cans for Scouting for Food, please remember your donations will be given to real people (including children) with real nutritious needs.

Most needed food drive items:

Peanut butter
Tuna
Canned Tuna
Other canned meats
Canned beans and chili
Canned stews and soups
100% fruit juice
Powdered milk
Canned fruits and vegetables
Macaroni and Cheese Dinners
Pasta Products
Spaghetti Sauce
Rice
Beans - canned or dried
Cereals
Diabetic food items
Flour
Baking goods
Holiday foods
Baby food - ALL

Most needed non-food items:

Toilet paper
Bar soap
Shampoo
Deoderant
Toothpaste
Laundry soap
Disposable diapers
Feminine hygiene products
Diapers
Wipes
Baby supplies - ALL


Please do not include:

Items that have been opened
Items in glass containers
Home canned or bottled items (items MUST be commercially prepared)


Please give what you can!

No one answered the phone at the Community Action Services and Food Bank but the paper I received at church says, "Recognizing the significant need in our communities the Utah National Parks Council of the Boy Scouts of America and other Wasastch Front councils have joined together to assist the food banks throughout the state of Utah."
