They are broken down into groups.
10 for $10
3 for $5
2 for $5 and
3 for $10
Just add up what you are getting and when you get to $30 start a new group. Remember that you dont have to stay in the price points, you can mix and match between them.

A friend just went last night to Albertson's to get all the deals. She did not get a catalina for $15 back so the cashier gave her $15 back in cash. I don't know if that is normal or not, but diffently cool.

I went last night and they needed a different preferred savings card per transaction. The computer would not print up the Catalina's otherwise.
Does anyone know if you really do need a separate Preferred Savings Card per transaction to get the Catalina? I'm getting ready to stock up on some stuff tonight and would be bummed if I could only get one $15 Catalina. It sounds like others have gotten more than one Catalina, so maybe what happened to Delight was a mistake?
BTW, I just saved tons at Smith's with their $5 sale + coupons and got free (by rebate) stuff at Walgreens so I'm pretty stoked. I've only been doing this a month and am glad to finally start seeing some good savings, yay!
This website is awesome
! Thanks to everyone who helps us newbies out with their questions!

I was wondering how many $15 Catalina's any one person has been able to get? I looked at my list and I have 5 $30 transactions I would like to make later today. Just wondering if anyone has been able to get that many. Thanks!

Okay, so I thought, why don't I just call Albertson's to find out about this, duh!
I talked to the Lehi Albertson's and they said that there is no limit to how many $15 Catalina's you can get, but you
do
have to separate your transactions by $30 totals. I asked if the cashiers minded if you did a bunch of separate transactions and she said no, that they were used to it, but it would be nice to let them know as you're checking out so if you have a lot they can close off the line so some poor person with just a regular order isn't stuck behind you.
As for how to separate your transactions, maybe I am too detailed
, but I just made up a spread sheet with all the items I wanted to purchase, how much the sale price was, how many coupons I had for them, and then grouped them by $30 totals. I also did this for when I went to Smith's, but I grouped them by qty instead of dollar amount, and it worked great!

Just a quick tip ... there will most likely be some items that are out of stock. This happened to me and threw off my groups of $30. It might be helpful for you to bring along some scratch paper and a pencil (or even a calculator
), just in case you need to do some last minute math.

I just got back from Albertsons in Lehi. They are completely out of Dove shampoo and conditioner, Suave kids shampoo, Green giant veggies, Wishbone red fat dressings (not the regular though), and Skippy Red fat peanut butter (again, not the regulars). I was there a long time because I had to put together a different group of $30 than I'd planned, and I had to get a few rainchecks. The lady doing the rainchecks was really rude and very stingy with the rainchecks. She kept asking if the items were really out of stock (as if I hadn't checked all morning) and pointing out that the raincheck is only good until next Tuesday.
You don't need a different Preferred Savings card for each transaction, you can use the same one.
My question is this: We are getting good deals but we're getting in store credit not money back. What is the likelyhood that the next two weeks (since Catalina expires on nov 27) Albertsons will raise their prices? So, we saved this week but not really because we will be paying extra for the next two weeks to use our catalinas. What does everyone think?

Those are some good points kseeg & MOMOFTWO. I realized they could be out stock on some things which was why I was planning to go tonight
without
my very cute but very distracting 14 month old
There is no way I could handle her, the cart, my coupon binder, and a calculator all at once!
I think my head might explode! Thanks for the update on what they are already out of. I never thought about Albertson's raising their prices for the next two weeks, but it seems like they always have something on sale, so I think I'm still going to give the Catalina's a try. Since I'm new at this I still have tons of things to stock up on, so hopefully there will be some good deals in the next couple weeks. That was one thing nice about Smith's current sale is you get the $5 discount immediately.

I think I know exactly which employee you're talking about! I've just tried to be EXTRA nice....I think it really bugs her.
Why are the rain checks only good until Tuesday? If that's the case, to get the sale price, you wouldn't need a rain check because it would still be on sale. Did I misunderstand?

I never buy anything at Albertson's that isn't on sale, because their reg. prices are really high. However, they always have a sale I don't want to miss, so I'm excited to put my catalinas to use next week. I only did the sale using three transactions. Typing that out, it sounds like a lot doesn't it? I'm stocked up on soup and laundry detergent.

Ok I must be the newest member to this site since I only found out about it last night at my ward Enrichment Night. Props to Lorretta! I tried to coupon on my own once before and had some success, but now we're really in a financial pinch, as many are. I want to do this 100%, I feel though that I need some help in understanding how everything works, anyone with any advise to newcomers, I would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks.

I don't foresee there being too much of a problem finding good deals within the next two weeks since Thanksgiving is coming up and stores generally put common Thanksgiving fare on sale.

I guess it would be more trouble, but you could also make 2 trips, and use the catalinas on the next trip? My Albertson's is really close and so I may do this, in order to use some of the catalinas on this sale.

I just got back from the Albertsons in American Fork. I had 4 transactions and after the first, the checker asked if I wanted to use my coupons on the other 3 transactions which I thought was cool! FYI: They were out on Dove shampoo and conditioner, Chex, and Progresso broth.
