I was wondering if you can use your catalina on your next transaction during the same visit?  (hope this makes sense) Also has anyone been to the Spanish Fork store? Just wondering if they have items in stock.  Thanks.

It probably depends on the cashier, but last night I also did it.  By the way, that cashier was a saint!!  She was very patient with me doing multiple transactions and every time she had to enter the $15 catalinas she had to enter a manager override code, and she and the manager were very patient with it.  It was at the Provo University store.  I said Thank You a lot, but is there a way to show appreciation besides that?

I NEVER met a sale I didn't like!

Don't know if this is happening with you all or not.

I was told that if you wanted to do more than one transaction you would have to use a different preferred savings card #.

Also - I'm guessing you can't get a raincheck on the $15 catalina to my knowledge, only the product sale price. So this sale would in essence be while supplies last - anyone else hear different?  It seems like a way for Albertsons to regulate rainchecks.

In reply to kwhipple, I'd just drop a 'thank you' note off at the store or drop it in the mail, telling them how very pleased you were with your shopping experience at their store. If you can remember the cashier's name be sure to mention him/her by name. Stores often have a way of thanking their employees like a gift card or another freebie and if they don't do that, they should pass on your written comments to the employee and possibly put a copy in the employee's file. It is important to follow through with these things. Working in retail can be just as hard a shopping in retail, if we all try to be a little more curteous and remember civility, everyone can have a more pleasant experience.

I was doing 4 transactions and had them all sorted and my coupons sorted when I went up to check out.  The first 3 worked great and she let me use the catalinas on the next transaction, but the 4th transaction did not print the catalinas.  She told me if they didn't print she could not do anything about it.  The manager had come up and she had lowered her voice like she was doing me a favor to use them on my next purchase.  By this point there was a line to check out, so I just left.  But now I don't think my last one was worth it, but didn't think it was worth taking it back.

I tried to get a raincheck, but they would not let me have it for the price with the catalina. They were kind about it and even called the higher up person to ask. They said that they have nothing to do with how the catalinas print out and that they could not even fix the broken one at their store. It is a different company all together that runs them.

True.  As I said before, this is a way for Albertsons to regulate rainchecks.  I'm hoping they don't keep doing sales this way.  If they don't have the product before the sale ends, you are out of luck.  Cry

I would take your receipt back to customer service and ask.  In that situation it would be frustrating.  I think it may be tied to your preferred savings card and that is why it didn't print.  I was told (1) $15 catalina per savings card.  I know you did 3 before it didn't work, but my guess is that's the problem.  You could always return the items and re-buy them if they would let you (If you stop by again).  It's not a good deal if the catalina doesn't print.

So the catalinas are only printing out this week? Bummer that means we won't be able to use our rainchecks. I wish that they would stock to store before sales. I worked in retail for years and our store always got major inventory before any of our sales. Our owner said it was worth it to have to much and have to sell it at a discount later than to not have enough and miss out on sales because of it. We just need another Albertsens around here to help out with all of the people. Is there one in Draper? And if so has any one shopped there and had better or worse luck?

Hi!  I spent some time at Albertson's on University Parkway this morning.  I was very careful to count my items so I had three $30 purchases.  When I checked out the catalina coupons only came out for 3/$30 purchases but they were helpful and issued me a credit which they wrote out at the camera counter.  When she was writing it up I apologized for the extra effort on her part and she said "those machines haven't been putting out the right number of catalinas for purchases in several days!!!!!!!!!!"   So, be sure and count your items yourself and know what you are buying.  And if it doesn't come out right just ask for a credit.  Undecided

It's interesting to read about all the different experiences everyone is having with this sale.  It's enough to make a newbie a little nervous about trying, but I decided to give it a go at the Lehi Albertson's this morning.  First, let me say that I had an awesome cashier.  Her name was Tracy and she was super nice.  Unfortunately I had made an error in calculating my $30 totals, but she was very nice and super patient about helping me get my totals correct.  My $15 Catalina printed out after the first transaction, but not after the next two, so she just made some kind of note about it (she acted like it was a machine error), and still gave me the store credit.  She even let me use the last Catalina on the same order (I don't know how or if this is okay with the store, but she asked me if I wanted to and I said 'Sure!'), so I had a $30 credit on my last transaction.  After the three $15 credits and using all my coupons I only paid about $35 for all my stuff, so it was a pretty good purchase for me even if they were out of stock on some things.  I came out of the store feeling great compared to going in with a bit of trepidation.  I'm definitely going to send the store Manager a note of appreciation for the great customer service as I think we should recognize when we receive exceptional service.  So, if you go to the Lehi Albertson's and if she's there, you should try to get in Tracy's line!   Smiley

Tracy is one of my favorite cashiers at the Lehi Albertson's, so I always go to her if she's working when I'm there.  I forgot to note the name of the checker that helped me yesterday, but he was great also.  He asked me how many transactions I wanted to do before he even started and then was prepared for the big stack of coupons I handed him.  Very pleasant.
