hi there! I get your emails and  read them and get excited then do nothing.  I have been sooo overwhelmed with the time this takes. Just this morning I talked to a coworker who told me about the new system.  I used the box. And to be honest with you, I was soooo frustrated I chucked it in the garbage 2 weeks ago because I wasnt using it at all.  Now that I talked to her, i feel motivated again. I think I need to go to another class because the one I went to was a box class.  I am very happy that there is an easier, better way to do this. I have been frustrated.  I will see you at your next class. Im going to go look up when that is.  Thank you for you hard work in helping us save $. I will start the program again! Smiley Sharell

Sharrell-

I'm glad you want to start back up again.  Cheesy  You can save so much money using coupons!

The box can be frustrating for many people!  I only teach the Coupon Portfolio class because it is sooooooooooo much simpler to use!

I'll send out an email about the next class soon!

I think I have used every method there is to organize coupons.  I started with the little accordian folder and could never find anything.  Then I tried punching holes and storing the entire inserts in a three ring binder. Again, I could never find anything!  Then I got the box and couldn't even understand how to keep track of what I had.  I finally got smart and got the binder/baseball card holders and I have LOVED IT!!!! I can quickly and easily find what I need.  I never go into any store without it and often find unadvertised or clearance items that I can quickly find coupons for.  It is quick and easy to sort my coupons after cutting them on Sundays, and also quick and easy to sort and throw out the expired ones.  Whenever I see someone carrying a box or accordian folder with their coupons, I want to tell them about the binder and how much time it saves to use it!  I have met people at the grocery stores who use Ziploc bags to sort their coupons. Cry  I often have men come up and look at my binder when I am shopping and ask questions about it.  My husband teases me because my binder goes on dates with us every Friday night.  I also store movie passes, restaurant coupons, Cold Stone coupons and other entertainment coupons in my binder. Wink I use something from my binder almost every time we go on a date.  Sometimes our dates end up being free after coupons! Wink

So if you haven't converted to the binder method and are frustrated with the method you are using, I highly recommend changing NOW!!! You won't believe how much better it is!

Are there any more of these available? I really need a binder that zips and I'd love to have a strap on it.
If they're still available please let me know (my sister, kraftee, wants one, too). Let me know how much or if they're not available, does anyone know where I can get one that has a stap and zips?
Thanks!

I would love to have one too (depending on the price if they are still available).  The zipper would be a life saver with kids.  My baby loves to flip through the pages and pull out anything she can.  She thinks its a game to crumple up my coupons as I am running at her to take them away.  She just laughs and thinks it is so fun.  I probably do look kinda silly all paniced.  Crazy what coupons do to you or what you will do for them!!!  toothy10 toothy10 toothy10

If anyone needs a binder I found a great one at Sam's Club in Provo.  It has two sets of rings and a bunch of inserts/pockets/zippers.  I pulled most of the stuff out and gave it to my kids for school...  It has a big strap, an outside zippered pocket (for scissors, calculator, etc.), and it all closes with a zipper (If you don't stuff it too full  Undecided) It was around $15.00 and they had lots of colors.

Thanks!!  I've been meaning to get a binder set up.  Occasionally I remember to look for the baseball card holders, but I have been unsuccessful.

I always buy the baseball card holders at Walmart.  They are in the office supply area with the other page protectors/dividers. I think there are 10 in a package and are around $1.44.  HTH!

My closest Walmart isn't a supercenter and I don't think they carry them.  I'll have to check at the bigger ones the next time I go.  At least I now know that some of them carry them.  Thanks!

At our Wal-mart the baseball card pages weren't in the office supply section, but in with the baseball/trading card supplies near the registers. Maybe check there.

While we are talking about it, how do you all keep up with clipping all your coupons and organizing them. I started and did it for a few months but then got overwhelmed and have gone back to keeping them whole. Any suggestions? I like the organization of it all, but I felt like my life revolved around sorting coupons and it was too much!

Try Staples!  They carry the heavy duty binders with straps!

I cut and sort on Sunday morning or evening when I have a bit of break from it all.  Some people only cut the coupons they know they will use and store the rest until they need them.  My husband cuts the coupons and then I sort them into piles of my ten categories.  If I don't have time right then to put them away I put them in ziploc baggies until I can sort them.  Truly it only takes about 1 hour.

I also try to get mine done on Sunday afternoons or evenings, otherwise the pile seems to haunt me until I get it done.  I also take my binder with me whenever we go anywhere and my husband is driving.  I have a garbage can in the car so I don't have clippings everywhere.  If I keep it in the car I find a few minutes here and there to work on it when I am waiting for kids at school, etc.

If you can look at couponing as a part-time job, it helps.  It definately takes time to cut and sort the coupons and organize yourself before going to the store, and do the shopping, and then put it all away.  I spent most of my day yesterday on Albertson's, but I got over $500 worth of groceries for just over $100.  That is worth a day of my time, and I have lots of food to feed my family in the end.   Cheesy HTH!!!

When I was at Albertson's on 16th North in Orem earlier this week I saw some of the same one's that Staples has (Case-It brand) with the strap and handle that also zip on an endcap that faces the health and beauty rows. I think it was down by the paper aisle. They were only $9.99 but I don't know if that was a sale. That's cheaper than I paid for mine! Also, I'm not sure if they were 2", 1 1/2" or what. If you look there and you don't see any, check the school supply aisle.

Good luck!

Okay, I think I need to shop with Tammy!  What did you buy that you were able to get $500 worth of groceries for just over $100?!?!  Impressive.  Azn
