Half the reason I shopped at Buy Low was to avoid going the rest of the way up the hill to WalMart! But I agree with the others. Now that I coupon, I wouldn't go to a store without seeing the ad or the Shopping Wizard first; and getting the pdf to load on your computer can be a pain depending on your internet and/or processor speed. Hopefully they'll be smart and put their ad back in.

I agree with all of this. I rarely shop at Walmart(like once every 2-4 months). I never price match because I find it is more trouble for me. I also probably will shop Buy Low a lot less without the shopping wizard. Lately I have been going there almost every week for something. I still just don't always trust my own judgement on whether it is a wow deal or not because I am a novice at this coupon thing. I will not go to Walmart any more to replace Buy Low, but I will probably skip it for Smith's or Macey's or somewhere else. I do love Buy Low and I don't want them to go out of business for any reason.

I don't price match because I feel that the store holding the sale should get my patronage - not wall mart. Especially in this economy, these stores have the sales to stay in business and draw customers to their stores, they deserve the business. (By price matching Wal Mart gets all of the business without the very large expense of advertising)
I do not go to stores unless I get an ad from them. BTW - not in love with the new Maceys ad, but am enjoying the blessings of cheaper prices.

I was just in Buy Low today, they didn't have a new ad -which I wouldn't know because I was "risking" it by stopping in to see what was on sale this week. They have extended last weeks ad until Wednesday, they said that because the mail hasn't been delivering the add until Tuesday or Wednesday that they are going to start running their ads from Wednesday to Tuesday. Seems to me a lot of work when the store is almost always packed when ever I've been there. I think that they have also cut back on the amount of "deals" they've ran and that might be an explanation for some drop off in customers. I know that I spread the word of their store and know of at least 20 people that started shopping them that had NEVER heard of them. I agree with everything said here especially about Wal-Mart. We need to stand by our local stores and them by us.

I wondered why there wasn't a Buy Low ad in my Sunday paper. I went into the store tonight to pick one up and found a sign saying that their ads would now run from Wednesday to Tuesday. That was what they were doing when they first opened and I didn't like it because they always have those Wednesday produce sales that I like to go to and my ads don't usually come until late Wednesday afternoon. I like to go early in the day as they sometimes run out of things and I often have commitments on Wednesday evening. From the amount of customers in the store on Wednesdays it is hard to believe that Walmart is taking customers away because it is always very crowded. I personally don't like to go to Walmart because it is the furthest store from my home and it is often hard to find a parking space. I've also heard complaints that Walmart's produce isn't very fresh. I enjoy the Savvy Shopper deals lists and the ratings it gives on the prices and also where to find the coupons. I look at the lists, but also at the ads because sometimes I am waiting for a specific product to go on sale that may not be on the lists. I agree with what others have said because I don't shop at stores that I don't have an ad for either. I will miss getting my Buy Low ad on Sunday.

I never receive any ads in the mail and totally rely on the Daily Herald Sunday ads. AND of course, the SAVVY SHOPPER DEALS website is a must have!!! Love that ShoppingWizard!

Sorry everyone - Until BuyLow comes back in the Daily Herald we won't be posting any deals. Let's show them the power of Savvy Shopper! If you go in - tell the manager you want their deals on Savvy Shopper!!!

Actually, the deals are still available online.
Though I agree; it is much more convenient to get the ad in the paper. Sadly, it makes this forum less useful to me, as well, since Buy Low is one of my primary grocery stores!

If you sign up in the store, they will email the weekly sales circular to you, as well as any other sales that come up. They sent me one Saturday morning for the sales just for that day.

Buy Low has yams 5 lbs for a $1. Also their celery is 3 for $1. I stored half a case of yams in my basement for almost a full year. We love making sweet potato fries. They had quite a few other items for excellent prices.
