Ok, so I just started on this whole Couponing thing....  I have a couple questions.

1-  After collecting a bunch of coupons, what do you do with the coupons that expire before the stores have the items go on sale or do they all eventually go on sale?  I assume you probably just throw them away.  Do you end up throwing a lot of them away each week??

2- I know that some stores do not take printed coupons.  Does anyone know exactly which stores do not take printed coupons so I don't go there with them?

If anyone could help answer these, that would be awesome!

I've been doing couponing for about 2 1/2 months now and have the same question!  Smiley  I've heard about some program where you can send in your expired coupons and they send them overseas or something!?  Anyone have any information about that program?

1.  Yes I throw away recycle a whole bunch of expired coupons each month.  I have heard about sending coupons to Military Families (apparently the military commissaries accept expired coupons), but I've never done this.

2.  Most of the Associated Foods Stores (Macey's, Harmons, Kohler's, Buy Low - see other post) do not take printables.  I've used IP everywhere else.

I usually just clean out expired coupons once a week or month (depending on if I need a slot for a bunch of coupons in a category-then I just remove the expired ones right away). I throw them away, but you can send them to military families (I think they're good for 3-6 months after the exp date).

As far as stores that don't accept printables, it may just depend on the cashier. I've used printables at Albies, Wal-Mart & Smiths with no problems.

Here's a website with the addresses to send them to for military families: http://www.grocerysavingtips.com/expiredgrocerycoupons.htm

Anyone know if any stores around here accept expired coupons?

Just a side note Buy Low did start excepting coupons you just need to verify your coupon at customer service first they have had a lot of fraudulent ones but they DO accept coupons Smiley

Thanks everyone!  That really helps!

So, is it the general consensus that Maceys does not accept online printed coupons??

Maceys was accepting the Kraft internet printables that they advertised about, but other than that they don't accept internet printable coupons.

I checked the Kraft web site yesterday and the only available ones to print were Crystal Light so unless you printed and saved they are about gone.

Noticed the Kraft ones were gone as well.  Good while they lasted!

There is an article  about what to do with your expired coupons. There's actually a lot of info under the "articles" tab at the top of the page.  Read it here http://www.savvyshopperdeals.com/content/view/28/3/

I wrote Julie (the one from the article) an email and it bounced.  Does anyone else out there currently do this or have addresses of where I can send military coupons?
