I get 3 Sunday papers and I'm not seeing the Albertson's Double Coupons this week.  Where are you ladies finding them?  Thanks.

Question - can I use three double coupons from the paper yesterday and the two from the ad in the same transaction?  (So five total?)

Thanks in advance.

Here's my understanding:

Most coupons read "manufacturer" will reimburse you the face value of the coupon plus 8 cents handling. Basically they're saying if a store chooses to double the coupon, the store will "eat" or take a loss on the double.  (If the coupon is for $1.00 and they double it to $2.00 - the store will only get reimbursed for $1.08)

In my experience in CA most coupons will double with no problem if the barcode starts with a 5.  Most blinkies start with a 9 and state "do not double". Honestly, I don't know why a store would double one coupon and not another.  It's their loss either way.  However, I too have heard of stores refusing to double the DND (do not double) coupons.  So, I guess buyer beware.

They are a single page flyer found in the Daily Herald.

Good question - I doubt it, but worth a shot.  Smiley  Let us know if you try it.

I just got back from Albertsons and wanted to share a couple good deals you can get with the doubling coupons.  They have Oscar Mayer hot dogs on sale for $.98.  If you use the $1 off of two packages coupon that came in the newspaper last week and double it, you get 2 packages of hot dogs for FREE   Smiley Smiley Smiley It looks like you can get up to 4 packs of hot dogs at this price.  They also have Breyers ice cream on sale for $2.50, and it ends up being $.50 if you double the $1 off coupon Smiley

I went to the Lehi Albies this morning and they are being super sticklers about only allowing you to do one set of 3 doubles per shopping trip. They did allow me to go out to my car and come back in to do my other 3 sets. Took a little longer but was totally worth it for the super great deals that I got.

Someone at AF Albies told me-doubles have little #s in the corner (1-6) and I was told that you could use more than 3 if they had different #s on them (meaning 1,2,3,4,5,6 but not 1,2,3,1,2,3) but then by the time I got to the chekout, the cashier said it was only one set/day so it really just depends on where you go and who your cashier is.

Lehi Albies also told me I could do mult. transactions, but had to go out to my car and come back in.

Anytime I am missing an insert, I call the Herald and they bring them to me the next day.

the more I read this stuff, the more I LOVE my Orem (center and state st.) Albertsons.  They let me simply divide my transactions and then proceed so long as there isn't someone waiting in line behind me.

I realize that this depends on the store, but with the new double coupon verbage it states "the total coupon redemption cannot exceed price of the item." So is the Oscar Meyer hotdog deal really honest? I still think that .49 cents is still an awesome deal. Do you think they made them at $.98 cents on purpose? Just a thought!  Undecided

Here's how the doubles work - it says, "the total coupon redemption cannot exceed the price of the item."  If, for example, you buy two hot dogs at .98/ea for a total of $1.96 and you use your $1/2 coupon, you CAN double that coupon.  They are supposed to only double the coupon up to .96.  Make sense?  You CAN double that coupon and get the free hot dogs.  There is nothing dishonest about that.  It's tricky and sometimes the cashier doesn't catch it and so they double it for the $1.00 amount.
