If you want to do a "body parts" Halloween event, try these out (borrowed from Taste of Home Magazine)

* Cold & Creepy: a bowl of cooked spaghetti makes for a perfect fistful of brains
* Say Ahhh: Flatten dried apricots with a rolling pin; they'll feel just like a tongue
* Eye See You: Slimy eyeballs are easily realized with a bowl of cold peeled grapes or cocktail onions
* Finger Food: Pistachio shells mimic scratchy finger nails; they are even more fun if painted with nail polish
* Vampires Unite: A convenient can of cherry pie filling becomes a tasty bowl of blood and guts

Make Spooky Foods for Halloween, courtesy of meals.com

If you really want to gross out your friends and family, Halloween is the night to do it. This involves a bit more than putting food coloring in the mashed potatoes.

Steps:

   1. Give up all sense of decency.
   2. Make scary ice cubes. Purchase a simple latex mask and two pairs of latex gloves. Fill the gloves and the mask with water and freeze overnight, then dip the ice-filled gloves and mask in hot water and remove the latex from the ice.
   3. Add the scary ice cubes to a punch bowl filled with Halloween drinks such as vampire punch, made by mixing 8 c. cranberry juice, 6 c. sparkling apple juice and 6 orange slices.
   4. Peel a bunch of grapes and put them in a jar. Insist that your guests reach in with their eyes closed and eat one.
   5. Make "boogers on a stick" by combining Cheez Whiz with green food coloring and squirting it onto the end of a pretzel stick.

 Serves: 24  Prep time: 20 min  Cook time: 18 min
Picture of the Baby Spider Cupcakes recipe

    * 1 box (18 oz.) chocolate cake mix
    * 1 cup Hellmann's or Best Foods Real Mayonnaise
    * 1 cup water
    * 3 eggs
    * 1 can (16 oz.) vanilla frosting
    * 20 drops yellow food coloring
    * 4 drops red food coloring
    * Black cake decorating frosting with small decorating tip
    * 24 large black gum drops
    * 24 small black gum drops
    * Chow mein noodles

1. Preheat oven to 350. Line 24 cupcake pans with paper cupcake liners; set aside.

2. In large bowl, with electric mixer on low speed, beat cake mix, Hellmanns or Best Foods Real Mayonnaise, water and eggs 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed, scraping sides occasionally, 2 minutes. Evenly pour into prepared pans.

3. Bake 18 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean. On wire rack, cool 10 minutes; remove from pans and cool completely.

4. Reserve 1 tablespoon white frosting. Mix food coloring into remaining frosting; frost cupcakes.

5. Draw 3 circles on each cupcake with black frosting. With toothpick, pull through 6 to 7 lines from center of each cupcake to the edge forming a web. Into large gum drops, insert 8 noodles for legs, then attach small gum drops to large gum drops with noodle for head. With toothpick, use reserved white frosting to draw eyes. Arrange spiders on cupcakes.
