Keeping track of store sales and issued coupons PDF Print E-mail

I am often asked if I track the sales cycles of grocery stores and shop according to those sales cycles. The answer is yes and no. I do pay attention to what is on sale each week and match up those sales prices with manufacturers coupons. But I do not religiously track what is going to be on sale and when.

Manufacturer coupons do tend to follow a cycle. During the fall and winter months we see different coupons than what we see during the spring and summer months. Similarly, grocery stores place different items on sale depending on the season or time of year.

Having a price point for products -- the highest price you will pay for something -- is important. Regardless of the season, you will know when a price is good enough to stock up on that item. Another important trend to follow is how often certain coupons come out.

During fall and winter, coupons for such things as hot cereal, chili, soups, canned vegetables, canned beans and raisins tend to be issued. During spring and summer we see more coupons for such things as ketchup, mustard, pickles, barbecue sauce, steak sauce, chips, ice cream and paper products.

The reason it is important to pay attention to when and how often coupons are issued, is to be able to gauge when and what to stock up on as well as how much to stock up.

The time to stock up on canned vegetables, canned beans, soups and canned tomatoes is during fall and winter, when those coupons are issued.

The best part? I do all the work for you! I keep track of what coupons come out and know when an unusual or rare coupon comes out and tell you when to buy. I send you the best deals every week for free in a bi-weekly e-mail. Yes, it is important to track coupon issuance, but let me do the work for you.
