Ok, so this is like my very favorite thing ever... My husband doesn't care for them, but I absolutely love them!!

Puffed Wheat Squares:

1/3 C. Margarine or Butter
1 C. Brown Sugar
1/2 C. Corn Syrup
2 tbsp Cocoa
1 tsp Vanilla
8 Cups of Puffed Wheat

Melt Margarine on the stove over medium to medium-high heat, add cocoa, brown sugar, corn syrup, bring to a rolling boil for 1 minute, add vanilla, stir, remove from heat, ad puffed wheat.  Grease a 9 x 13 pan, put in pan and wait for it to cool, cut into squares and enjoy! Smiley

Great, now I'm craving them...   love4

Peanut Butter Chews

1 c corn syrup
1 c sugar
1 c peanut butter
4 1/2 c cornflakes
1 c chocolate chips (milk chocolate are my favorite!)
1 c butterscotch chips

Bring corn syrup and sugar to a boil.  Boil 1 minute.  Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter until melted.  Add cereal and stir until well coated.  Drop by the spoonful onto waxed paper.  Melt chips and drizzle over chews.  Yummy!

This was my neighbors favorite to make.  She didn't give me the best recipe (not specific on sizes), but it should be easy enough to figure out. Smiley

Chex Christmas Treat

1 bag slivered almonds
1 lg box (20ish oz) corn chex
1 lg box honey grahams
3 c flaked coconut

Put in to a large bowl.

1 1/2 c butter
2 c sugar
2 c corn syrup

Bring to a boil and boil 3 minutes.  Pour over cereal and mix until thoroughly coated.  Pour onto 2 large cookie sheets to cool.

On the cereal, since there is not specific sizes, I would not pour the whole boxes in until after you have tested it.  You want the syrup to coat the cereal completely.  You can always add more cereal if you need to, but you can't take it out. Smiley

I just noticed that most of the cereals in the recipes are the "plain and boring" cereals.  I guess you have to do something with them in order for them to be edible.  A bowl full of sugar and milk doesn't always cut it. Wink Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I just remembered this recipe.  I got this last Christmas in a cute bag. It was delicious and addictive!!! It is close to the Puffed Wheat Squares form Xylia but made with corn puffs!

Caramel Corn Puffs

2 sticks butter
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. Karo (light)
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp Kosher salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 package Cheetos butter flavored corn puffs (you can put more if you want a light coating)

In a large saucepan, bring butter, brown sugar and Karo to a boil for 5 minutes stirring constantly. Stir in vanilla, salt and baking soda. (This will cause the mixture to bubble up.) Pour the corn puffs into a large bowl. Pour the mixture over the corn puffs and stir until well coated. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Turn and stir every 15 minutes. Allow to cool on a wire cooling rack. To store, place in a sealed air tight container.

The Corn Pops are seasonal - usually out around Christmas.  They come in a large 16 oz bag (they weigh nothing!).  The brand I usually find is Barrel 'O Fun.  They are usually in an end cap by the chips, or on the end of the chip isle.

When I had this, they were called "Spanish Fork Worms"

That sounds delicious - and for those of us who have a lot of Rice Krispies, it would probably be great also!
